Can’t connect to MyCloud 2015 with Windows 11

If you're unable to connect to your MyCloud (2015 model) device using Windows 11, the issue likely stems from outdated network protocols. Older MyCloud devices rely on SMB1 (Server Message Block version 1), which is disabled by default in Windows 11 for security reasons. Without SMB1, Windows cannot access these older NAS systems.

To resolve the issue:

Enable SMB1 (not recommended for long-term use):

Go to Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows features on or off.

Check “SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support”.

Click OK and restart your PC.

Map the Network Drive Manually:

Open File Explorer.

In the address bar, type \\[your-mycloud-ip-address] or \\MYCLOUD and press Enter.

If prompted, enter your MyCloud login credentials.

Assign a Static IP: Set a static IP for your MyCloud in your router settings to avoid network discovery issues.

Check Workgroup Name: Ensure your PC and MyCloud are on the same workgroup.

For security, consider upgrading to a newer NAS or disabling SMB1 once connected and copying your data off the device.
