Why Can’t Access EX2100 admin interface under MacOS

If you can’t access the WD My Cloud EX2100 admin interface on macOS, the issue is often related to network discovery, browser compatibility, or IP conflicts. First, ensure your EX2100 is powered on and connected to the same network as your Mac. Then, open a browser and try accessing the interface using the device's IP address (e.g., http://192.168.x.x) instead of http://wdmycloudex2100.local, as mDNS resolution sometimes fails on macOS.

If the IP is unknown, go to System Settings > Network on your Mac and check your router settings to find connected devices and locate the EX2100. Alternatively, use the WD Discovery or WD Access utility to detect the device.

Clear browser cache or switch to a different browser like Firefox or Safari if Chrome doesn’t work. Ensure no VPN or firewall is blocking local network traffic. If the interface still won’t load, try a reboot of both the EX2100 and your router.

Lastly, if the firmware is outdated or corrupted, you may need to reset the device (hold the reset button for 4–10 seconds) to restore access—note this doesn’t delete data. For persistent issues, contact WD Support or use SSH if enabled.
