Mycloud Home is not accessible windows 11

Many users have reported that My Cloud Home by Western Digital becomes inaccessible after upgrading to Windows 11. Whether the device fails to appear in File Explorer or throws network access errors, the problem typically stems from compatibility issues, SMB protocol changes, or network discovery being disabled.

🔍 Common Causes:

SMB1 protocol disabled (Windows 11 disables this by default)

Network discovery or file sharing turned off

WD Discovery app not running or outdated

Firewall or antivirus blocking access

IP address conflict or incorrect network settings

✅ Quick Fixes:

1. Enable SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing

My Cloud Home requires SMB1 for file sharing:

Go to Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows features on or off

Check SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support

Click OK and restart your PC

2. Turn On Network Discovery

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced Network Settings > Advanced sharing settings

Turn on Network Discovery and File and Printer Sharing

3. Access via IP Address

If My Cloud doesn’t appear under “Network,” open File Explorer and type:

Replace [your-device-IP] with the actual IP of your My Cloud Home.

4. Update or Reinstall WD Discovery App

Visit WD’s official site to download the latest version of WD Discovery. This app helps with drive mapping and cloud features.

If these steps don’t work, try rebooting your router and the My Cloud Home device. If the issue persists, consider contacting WD Support for further assistance.
